08/06/2004 - Swedish Government gives Saab Top Ratings

You can rely on three-year-old Saabs

This isn’t Saab blowing its own trumpet, but the latest statistics from Bilprovningen, the Swedish government agency responsible for annual road worthiness checks on cars more than three years old.

Five versions of the Saab 9-5 fill the top six places in the section for larger cars requiring least attention. And in the medium-sized category, the Saab 9-3 outperforms most of the European opposition.

"This confirms what many other independent quality measurements of three year old cars have found, such as consumer reports and the influential JD Power in the USA, that Saab quality levels rank consistently high" says Jonathan Nash, Managing Director, Saab Great Britain.

"Historically, the Saab 9-5 has always gained very good results in Bilprovningens statistics, and it is excellent, though not unexpected, news that the 9-3 is following suit."
