| The acclaimed Saab 9-3 Convertible has been declared the winner
of the Convertible / Roadster category at this year’s British
Insurance Car Security Awards (BICSA) at the Motor Insurance Repair
Research Centre in Thatcham.
This important anti-theft security award comes less than one week
after the Saab 9-3 Convertible received the first ever five star
Euro NCAP crash safety rating for a soft-top car.
The 9-3 Convertible’s top BICSA security rating follows the
leading anti-theft performance by the Saab 9-3 Sport Saloon in What
Car? magazine’s annual security test last year.
Standard anti-theft security features on all Saab models in the
UK include Category 1 alarms with tilt sensor, remote-control deadlocks
with steel door lock shields, electronic immobiliser, steering column
or transmission lock, unique-fit audio systems wedded to each car
individually, and locking wheel nuts.
Lars Evensson, Saab Automobile’s Manager for Security Complete
Car says: "For today’s customers, good car security is
almost as important as safety. Saab’s goals have been to arm
the 9-3 with the type of safeguards that tell the potential thief…don’t
bother. This award from BISCA is strong evidence that our skilled
security development engineers have succeeded, for which we are
all very proud."
Saab GB’s Managing Director, Jonathan Nash, adds: "Within
the past month, the new 9-3 Convertible has received a hat-trick
of prestigious awards, beginning with the Institute of Vehicle Engineers
design award for top sporting open top car, followed last week by
the maximum five star Euro NCAP safety ranking, and culminating
now in the significant BICSA security rating. No wonder demand for
the Saab 9-3 Convertible is running at record levels." |
