More than 320,000 owners of Vauxhall, SAAB and Chevrolet cars
needing a first MOT Test in 2009 can take the uncertainty out of
this sometimes fraught experience and protect their investment
with a special insurance scheme.
For an annual peace of mind premium of just £75, the scheme
covers you against the cost of repair and replacement of an extensive
range of parts that fall within the scope of the annual safety
and roadworthiness test.
This extends to more than 20 key areas, including lighting, steering
and suspension, brakes, fuel system, mirrors and seatbelts, should
your car or car-derived van fail its MOT. The annual premium covers
repairs up to a total value of £750.
MOT Test Insurance is available for most Vauxhall cars and all
car-derived vans, plus Saab and Chevrolet* cars up to eight years
old having covered less than 80,000 miles, provided that there
is at least six months until your vehicle’s first or next
MOT is due and that your car has an up-to-date service history
in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
And if you decide to sell your vehicle privately before its next
test, the policy can be transferred to the new owner.
The policy is available at participating Vauxhall MasterFit Retailers
across the 400 strong network throughout the UK, plus participating
Saab and Chevrolet service departments.
* MOT Test Insurance is also available to owners of Daewoo cars
up to eight years old.
